Dokken

Nov 3| 6:30pm | $30 | Full Bar | All Ages

Dokken exploded out of the boiling hard rock/heavy metal scene in Los Angeles in the early 1980s. 1983’s “Breaking the Chains” with its catchy title track, set the stage for Dokken becoming the most dominant creative and commercial force in the world of Melodic Hard Rock for the following years. Such classic albums as “Tooth and Nail”, “Under Lock and Key” and “Back for the Attack” all became Multi-Platinum selling smashes and the live “Beast from the East” went gold in Europe and Japan. Songs like “Alone Again”, “Just Got Lucky”, “Into the Fire”, “In My Dreams”, “Unchain the Night”, “Dream Warriors”, “Burning like a Flame” and “Heaven Sent” are still nowadays regarded among the genre’s finest.

Country Weekend and More in Big Bear Lake

Who’s Ready for a Country Weekend??

This coming weekend is a very special one, because we have two country legends playing right here at The Cave! We will be having Phil Vassar on Friday, and Mark Wills on Saturday, with some amazing opening acts for you. Along with an awesome weekend at The Cave, Big Bear will be having a myriad of events going on. We have events happening every day here in this beautiful town, and we would love to experience them with you! Here are some things coming up this weekend.

Concerts

Phil Vassar

Oct 12 | 6:30pm | $40 | Full bar | All Ages

Phil Vassar is one of a handful of musicians to have multiple hits as a songwriter AND as an artist. He has 10 Number 1s, 15 Top 10s, and 26 TOP 40s.  Top songs include Just Another Day in Paradise. Carlene, Six Pack Summer, American Child, For a Little While & My Next Thirty Years (Tim McGraw), Right on the Money (Alan Jackson), I’m All Right & Bye Bye (Jodee Messina) and many more. American Soul is Phil’s ninth album. He also recently launched “Songs from the Cellar” a wine-infused musical conversation airing across the US and Europe.

Mark Wills

Oct 13 | 6:30pm | $30 | Full Bar | All Ages

The Reader’s Digest version of Mark Wills’ story makes it clear he’s an award-winning singer’s singer. His matchless phrasing, passionate and meaningful delivery and right-on-the money vocals make each and every song he performs come alive. Like a picture perfect painting, Wills’ music is a vocal work of art that walks right off the canvas and into the hearts of country music lovers alike.
Bringing the Wills’ dimension to some of the greatest songs ever written, he’s not necessarily become known for being trendy, hip or even on the cutting edge, but rather and simply as a damn good singer!

Since the announcement that Rush has officially retired from the touring scene, their diehard fans the world over, are in need of their fix of live Rush music. While many tributes find it necessary to get the “look” of the band just right with wigs and other attire, Visions believes that the music is #1. The common Rush Head is very skeptical of anyone attempting to reproduce Rush music with any proficiency, not to mention very quick to point out ANY mistakes. With this in mind, and being die hard Rush fans ourselves, the choice to make sure every nuance of a song, from samples to vocal harmonies to analog keyboards, is the priority.

About Redwood Black

Redwood Black came to life in 2017. Members JT Harker, Joe Devenney, Alex Seller, Todd Coogan, and Joe Conner, previously were known as the band Honky Tonk Boombox. Residing in the metropolis of Los Angeles, California, their sound combines the richness and depth of California’s country music heritage and a rock/pop edge that only comes from being immersed in the LA music scene. The band released their debut single “Murder In Georgia” in late 2017. To get all the latest news and updates, sign up for their mailing list below. See you on the road!

About Rob Leines

Rob Leines’ music originated in the Southeast within the Appalachian Mountains.  With the influence of Country, Rock and Roll, and Blues, his unique Americana sound was born on the hills of Tennessee.  Soon after Leines expanded to the west. While welding and metal working for the oil and gas industry along the pacific coast, Rob’s music took on a more raw and gritty side. The blue collar lifestyle and southern roots make for a genuine representation of the American songwriter through his music.  The Rob Leines Band is a fresh sound, with a rowdy charisma and attitude that country rock needs. His upcoming album, “Bad Seed” will be released MAY 13th

About The Rhyolite Sound

Formed in Las Vegas, NV in 2013, The Rhyolite Sound bring their own desert honky tonk to the stage blending elements of Outlaw, Rockabilly, Honky Tonk, Blues, and Rock N Roll. Their aim is to attract the hardest core traditionalist as well as the most casual country music fan with a live show that’s raucous and rowdy, containing plenty of banter in between songs to keep their audience entertained. Delicately weaving their melodies and harmonies alongside madness and mayhem, The Rhyolite Sound are purveyors of pure honky tonk in an impure world.

Geoff Tate’s 30th Anniversary of Operation: Mindcrime

When most musicians record solo albums, it’s because they need an outlet for material that doesn’t fit the scope of their band. That wasn’t the case with Geoff Tate. While there’s very little on his solo debut that couldn’t fit within the ever-evolving musical scope of Queensrÿche, the difference for the vocalist lies in the expression of those songs, and how they actually came to fruition.

“The problem when you’re in a creative environment is keeping things fresh and invigorating, and after working with the same people for twenty years, it gets very difficult—You walk into the room, and everybody knows what everybody is going to do,” explains the frontman. “There’s no spark of new blood, the chemistry is very tried and true, and you just keep coming up with the same ways of expressing yourself. What’s nice about doing a side project with new people, is that it’s a whole new breed, and a bunch of new ideas, musical backgrounds, emotional baggage, and whatever else it takes to create. It’s a whole new set of parameters, so it’s all new, everyone has ideas you haven’t heard before, and everyone is throwing them against the wall. It takes on a whole new life.”

Queen Nation

June 30 | 6:30pm | $15 | Full Bar | All Ages

There is little doubt among the pure rock community that the legendary band Queen and lead performer Freddie Mercury earn high ranks as one of the most powerful and iconic groups in rock history. Queen, the kings of arena rock, performed to packed stadiums around the globe for over two decades. Freddie took showmanship by a rock front man to a new untapped level and was undisputedly crowned the lord of arena rock. He mesmerized audiences with his charismatic energy and larger than life stage persona. Upon his death in 1991, a huge void was left in the rock concert world, which to this day has not yet been matched.

Queen Nation, a tribute to Queen, was formed in 2004. Queen Nation consists of: Gregory Finsley on vocals & keyboards as Freddie Mercury, Mike McManus on guitar as Brian May, Pete Burke on drums as Roger Taylor, and Parker Combs on bass as John Deacon. The mission of the show is to carry on the musical torch and pay homage to the golden age of vintage Queen concerts.

Queen Nation’s live 90-minute production of Queen’s greatest hits preserves the image, sound, and stage persona of vintage Queen. Audiences are amazed at the accuracy of Queen Nation’s live retrospective journey through such Queen songs as We Will Rock You – Bohemian Rhapsody – We Are The Champions – Crazy Little Thing Called Love – You’re My Best Friend – Another One Bites The Dust – Under Pressure and many more. They have performed in front of thousands of people at casinos, fairs, festivals and private affairs.

If at any point during the week you get stuck on your pattern, or if you can’t make a Friday session and you need to make it up, you’re always welcome to drop in to our help sessions as well, Tuesdays 4-6 and Saturdays 3-5pm.

Our last session will end in a Friday night excursion into town where we all show off our vests!

Your Trip to Big Bear: Food & Entertainment

So Much to do, so little time to do it!

Big Bear is such an beautiful place to visit, filled with some amazing people and delicious food. For being such a small town, there is so much to do! The entire town is packed with a great array or possible things to do, and all of the options are almost overwhelming! So I’d like to provide some guidance from a local’s perspective.

Dish of the Week: Avocado Bomb

What is green, stuffed with spicy ahi, topped with our crab & shrimp cake, dressed with chipotle aioli and ponzu dipping sauce? Yeup. The Avocado Bomb.

Our signature dish! The avocado bomb is a honey ale tempura battered avocado, spicy sashimi ahi, crab & shrimp cake, ponzu, chipotle aioli & wonton crisps. Only want a taste? Try a half order! Paris great with our “Honey Blonde Ale!” This is one of the hottest dishes in town. Everyone loves our signature Avocado Bomb!

Concerts

For a kickass show, the place to go is The Cave in The Village. The Cave is the only live music venue in Big Bear and puts on a full show with a world class sound system, laser shows, and top tier bands. This weekend we have a local EDM and Punk Rock show on May 18th, followed by Dave Mason on May 19th! The Cave has shows every weekend, and will always show you a good time. There is not a bad seat in the house!
