Reel Big Fish

Fri, Jan 11 | 6:30pm | $25 | Full Bar | All Ages

Reel Big Fish was one of the legions of Southern California ska punk bands to edge into the mainstream following the mid ’90s success of No Doubt and Sublime. The band was distinguished by their hyperkinetic stage shows, juvenile humor, ironic covers of new wave pop songs, and metallic shards of ska. The group cultivated an underground following that broke into the mainstream in summer 1997 when their single “Sell Out” became a modern rock radio and MTV favorite. Their appearance in the movie “Baseketball” as the halftime band also gained them more fans and helped the band’s popularity to grow. Still fronted by original lead singer and songwriter Aaron Barrett, they continue releasing albums and touring relentlessly, playing more and more countries and bigger venues all over the world.

“A Christmas Carol… Askew” at the PAC

Dec 21, 2018 | 07:30PM – 09:30PM

The Big Bear Theatre Project presents it’s own hilarious version of the classic tale of Ebenezer Scrooge at the PAC on December 21st and 22nd  at 730pm and December 23rd for a 2pm matinee

When asked for a brief description of A Christmas Carol …. Askew, Steve Cassling’s response is ”It’s indescribable!” A Christmas Carol … Askew is an original panto written by Steve Cassling. The show contains bold humor but stays family friendly with some slapstick humor for the kids. The show closely follows the story of the original Charles Dickens classic ”A Christmas Carol” with a few twists and turns. There is improvisation from the actors and the direction can vary from show to show depending on something as small as someone wearing a silly sweater in the audience. The show involves teasing and is extremely interactive.  Shows start at 7:30pm Friday and Saturday and Sunday at 2pm   Come laugh until your face hurts!     Ticket Prices: General $15.00 – Seniors and Students $10.00 Tickets at The PAC Box Office or thru website

We’re Gettin’ LIT this Weekend!

Time to get Lit!

We are getting Lit this weekend! With the events and activities building up, we are having Lit and Alien Ant Farm this Saturday at The Cave! Check out these amazing bands, amazing restaurants, the local brewery, and other activities throughout the weekend!

Lit | Alien Ant Farm

Sat, Dec 15th | 6:30pm | $38+ | Full Bar | All Ages

A major player throughout the post-grunge boom of the late ’90s, Lit featured the combined talents of frontman A. Jay Popoff, his guitar-playing brother Jeremy, bassist Kevin Baldes, and drummer Allen Shellenberger. The group formed in 1990 in Orange County, California, where it initially performed metal-influenced music under the name Razzle. After changing their name, Lit began embracing a spunky brand of punk-pop that helped attract a local following in California. The group sold out local venues (including Club 369 in Fullerton) and issued two recordings: an EP, Five Smokin’ Tracks from Lit; and the full-length Tripping the Light Fantastic, which arrived during the spring of 1997 and became a college radio hit.

Get Ready for December in Big Bear!

It’s Almost December!

The resorts are open and the mountain is ready for another beautiful December! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had an amazing time with the tree lighting ceremony, Warren Miller’s film premiere and Johnny Cash tribute at The Cave, and the Big bear Turkey Trot! Now that we only have one more week in November, we are celebrating the end of another amazing month this weekend and the beginning  of December! Los Lonely Boys will be performing at The Cave this Friday Nov 30th! Fleetwood Mac and Heart tribute bands will also be performing this Saturday, Dec 1st! It’s shaping up to be a beautiful weekend in Big Bear! Check out the other events below 🙂

Los Lonely Boys

Fri, Nov 30 | 6:30pm | $45 | Full Bar | All Ages   AUSTIN, Texas—“We decided to call this album Revelation because we want to make music that reveals something to people about their lives and their world,” says Jojo Garza. He’s talking about the new release by Los Lonely Boys, the close-knit Texas trio that the bassist/vocalist shares with his brothers Henry (vocals, guitar) and Ringo (drums, vocals). “As musicians and artists, we’re here to connect with people, and to share our view of things.” Revelation — to be released on the band’s own LonelyTone imprint Jan. 21, 2014, in association with the respected Austin-based indie Playing in Traffic — is a landmark release for the siblings. While maintaining the infectiously melodic mix of bluesy rock ’n’ roll and rootsy brown-eyed soul that’s long endeared Los Lonely Boys to its fiercely loyal fan base, Revelation adds an expansive range of new sonic elements, e.g. the conjunto touches of “Blame It On Love,” the reggae groove of “Give A Little More,” the rustic acoustic textures of “It’s Just My Heart Talkin’ and the baroque pop elements of “There’s Always Tomorrow.” Check it out Here!

Fleetwood Mac vs. Heart

Sat, Dec 1st| 6:30pm | $20 | Full Bar | All Ages |

It’s a battle of the classic-rock cover bands when Fleetwood Mac tribute Mirage takes on Heart band Dog ‘n’ Butterfly at The Cave in Big Bear Village. With longtime Stevie Nicks impersonator Michelle Tyler at the helm, Mirage re-creates the look and sound of the ’70s icons with spot-on live versions of memorable hits like “Go Your Own Way,” “Don’t Stop,” “The Chain,” “Dreams,” “Rhiannon,” and more. Ann and Nancy Wilson themselves have given their stamp of approval to the Heart tribute group Dog ‘n’ Butterfly, who perfectly capture the original band’s high-energy concert experience, complete with retro-inspired costumes and renditions of songs like “Barracuda,” “Crazy On You,” “Magic Man,” “These Dreams” and more.   Check it out Here!

Concerts

Monsters of Metal

Nov 2 | 6:30pm | $15 | Full Bar | All Ages

Mr. Crowley was born back in 1999, a time when there weren’t any Ozzy or Black Sabbath tribute acts around yet. After almost two decades of paying tribute to The Prince Of Darkness, the passion for performing these incredible works burns stronger than ever in every one of the members… Through the last 19 years, the band has gone through countless members and incarnations, many whom have gone on to join up with larger than life acts making Mr. Crawley somewhat of a breeding ground.

Other Acts: Maiden USA | Big City Nights | Dirty Deeds

Dokken

Nov 3| 6:30pm | $30 | Full Bar | All Ages

Dokken exploded out of the boiling hard rock/heavy metal scene in Los Angeles in the early 1980s. 1983’s “Breaking the Chains” with its catchy title track, set the stage for Dokken becoming the most dominant creative and commercial force in the world of Melodic Hard Rock for the following years. Such classic albums as “Tooth and Nail”, “Under Lock and Key” and “Back for the Attack” all became Multi-Platinum selling smashes and the live “Beast from the East” went gold in Europe and Japan. Songs like “Alone Again”, “Just Got Lucky”, “Into the Fire”, “In My Dreams”, “Unchain the Night”, “Dream Warriors”, “Burning like a Flame” and “Heaven Sent” are still nowadays regarded among the genre’s finest.
